In an age where cybercrimes, online fraud and identity theft are ever-present concerns, how can you make sure your business and customers are staying safe? PwC Herald Talks is tackling the topic of Cyber Security in the first 2019 talk, on Thursday 11 April. 

 After five sell-out events in Auckland last year, PwC Herald Talks is moving to a bigger venue with plenty of space to network and host your clients - the Victory Convention Centre.

Hear from keynote speaker Colin James, who heads up Cyber Security across the Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific (AMAP) regions for Vodafone Group. James will draw on over 25 years of experience, having started his career with the Royal New Zealand Airforce in air accident investigation. He is now responsible for ensuring Vodafone markets in the AMAP region are prepared to navigate the future threat landscape, while providing a safe and connected experience for their global customer base.

James comments, “By 2025, it is predicted that 50% of internet traffic coming from a home will not be generated by humans, and with 5G coming, the potential for increased cybercrime is a real risk. There’s no such thing as being at the bottom of the world when it comes to cyber.”

 Following the keynote will be an IT security savvy panel, with discussion around managing incidents if they occur, the role employees play in the control of cyber-attacks and what businesses need to prepare for to navigate future threats. The panel will include Kendra Ross – Cyber Security Entrepreneur; Adrian van Hest – Partner and Cyber Leader, PwC New Zealand; Laura Bell – CEO, SafeStack; and Stephen Kraemer – Chief Information Security Officer, Ports of Auckland.
