The Country

The Country

To maximise NZME’s rural audience we are now collating all rural content and channeling it through an overarching, single brand, The Country. Therefore creating an integrated, multi-channel brand for NZME advertisers to align themselves with.

The Country covers all the local rural news and views in our communities, plus the big national topics that face farmers and growers today – investigated by some of New Zealand’s top journalists across multiple channels including radio, print and digital.

The Country - Print

Published across five daily newspapers, and the Te Awamutu Courier, The Country reaches an estimated audience of 181,000* readers every Thursday, bringing them a comprehensive package of the facts, figures and opinions the primary sector needs to know.

The Country is also delivered FREE every month straight into the mailboxes of over 80,000 farming household nationwide.

The Country’s presence will continue online, with its editorial content featuring across all NZME Local Network websites, as part of the network.

From respected business journalist Fran O’Sullivan to key rural commentators from NZME Radio, backed up by the on-the ground agriculture and horticulture reporters at each of our newspapers, we have a star lineup telling the stories that make up The Country.

They delve into the issues of markets, politics and resource management, offer a comprehensive roundup of rural property price trends and market condition and update readers on technology and innovation, sustainability and the environment, rural industry training and all the new developments in farming and growing.
