iHeartRadio New Zealand presents Cold War Kids ‘The Hottest Ticket in Town’ thanks to 2degrees

18 February 2016 - iHeartRadio New Zealand is thrilled to announce American indie-rock band Cold War Kids will be giving a free live performance on Friday, March 18 at The Bedford in Christchurch.

Thanks to iHeartRadio NZ, Hauraki and 2degrees you have a chance to win tickets to this exclusive show featuring Cold War Kids, who will be supported by local band Knives at Noon. Enter the competition at www.iheartradio.net.nz/competitions/win-tickets-to-cold-war-kids/ or www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/perks/ and go in the draw.

NZME Group Entertainment Director, Dean Buchanan, says, “iHeartRadio NZ and 2degrees are excited to continue their commitment to bring Kiwis the 'Hottest Ticket in Town'. Cold War Kids will be the first international rock band that we present free in 2016 and a great way to kick-off another year celebrating music.

“At iHeartRadio NZ we like to share the music love across the country and this will be our second free show in Christchurch, following on from Neil Finn in 2014. We are delighted that iHeartRadio NZ has just surpassed 400,000 registered users, so more people than ever before are enjoying the iHeartRadio App and exclusive stations like NZ Top 40, Hauraki Classic Rock and The Axe Attack.”

Ten years ago Cold War Kids formed as a four-piece band of college friends and evolved since then, growing a loyal international fan base on the way. The launch of Robbers & Cowards in 2006 created a cult-like buzz with fans and critics, with their most recent album Hold My Home released in October 2014.

The Long Beach bands single First went to number one on the US Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart last year. Cold War Kids are regulars at some of the world’s biggest music festivals, including The Coachella Valley Music Festival.
